Camera Image Quality Test Lab Manager

We are currently looking for a candidate to set up and manage a camera image quality test lab at our Imatest Boulder office location, with plans to establish a synchronized lab in Silicon Valley.

This individual will work closely with customers to establish benchmarking and tuning needs related to their specifications. The primary output is generating reproducible, reliable reports for the customers. The responsibilities also include providing image quality training.  

This full-time position requires the Camera Image Quality Test Lab Manager to work in-person in our Boulder, Colorado, office with the ability to travel to California multiple times a year.

Key Responsibilities:

• Establishing Imatest service lab in Boulder, which includes setting up lab equipment, lab charts, lab lighting and lab protocols for still and video camera captures
• Crafting image quality test plans according to customer requirements using Imatest software, hardware and tools
• Deciding with the customer on type of image quality factor measurements in order to characterize their camera image quality
• Verifying image characteristics using Imatest data
• Creating detailed reports and summarizing findings for customers
• Leading onsite training at customer labs
• Maintaining an extensive knowledge of Imatest’s product catalog

Required Experience:

• 5+ years in camera image quality test lab setup experience
• 5+ years preparing and performing scientific testing in a lab environment
• Benchmarking and/or tuning experience with camera and/or lens and optics systems
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Image Science, Optics or related engineering degree or equivalent experience

Desired Experience:

• Using Imatest to perform image quality testing
• Benchmarking/Tuning in a variety of imaging market segments such as consumer, automotive, medical
• Hands-on experience with sensors, optics and image signal processing (ISP) algorithm tuning
• Setting up multiple labs and ensuring synchronized results
• Technical sales experience

Main Work Location: Boulder, Colorado, with travel to California multiple times a year

Salary Range: $80,000 to $125,000 dependent upon experience and education
