The Effects of Misregistration on the Dead Leaves Cross-Correlation Texture Blur Analysis (ISO 19567-2)

Jan 31, 2017 Standards

Robert Sumner presents the paper at Electronic Imaging 2017 (Image Quality and System Performance XIV, January 31, 2017), with Ranga Burada and Noah Kram. The dead leaves pattern is widely used to measure how well cameras preserve fine texture, and newer cross-correlation methods promise more robust results than comparing power spectra. The talk shows how small misregistration between the captured image and the reference pattern affects those cross-correlation texture blur measurements per ISO 19567-2.
